Rising Above book
In Rising Above, Green Beret Sean Rogers chronicles the toughest battle of his life: the long, painful fight to confront his darkest fears and reclaim his life. After struggling as a young man to accept the raw trauma of his past, he eventually learned to understand and embrace it, ultimately using it to become an elite Special Forces operator.
Through this profoundly honest and inspiring memoir, Rogers explores what it means to make the pain of your past work for you, showing you how to harness the truth of your own reality and take control of your destiny.
I haven't read the book yet --- I'm still processing the me getting started on reading the book, (I have my own childhood trauma) but I'm so glad I have a book that relates the some of the things I've had to experience unfortunately, as a child, a teen and a young man. Now, as I journey into adult manhood, I look to read this book as a way to have a book version of a male companion who understands some of my pain and a way to understand theirs, with the intent to share my own childhood trauma one day. Thanks Sean. Much love man 🤙🏾💯😎
Rising Above book
I ordered Sean Rogers book and didn’t know what to expect. I was reading the book and got to page 43. Sean talks about “ our own version of a poor embarrassed kid inside of us”. That really hit me hard! I grew up in a poor violent environment on the south side of Chicago and was bullied in grammar & high school. I joined the Marine Corps to toughen up and get the skills to survive this harsh world. Thank you Sean for sharing your experiences with us.
This was a very good book. It's always been a challenge for me to stop working, working out, or running and sit down and make myself read a book. This was an easy read as it kept my interest the entire time. I rarely watch tv or videos, and the youtube channel sparked my interest as I was looking into reviews for some products I was considering buying. I then began watching and read this book and now I'm a supporter. I think many of us that join the military have very similar stories of poor raisings, being misguided, or anger and we don't desire pity for those circumstances, but instead learn to live with them. It's nice to see others overcome those realities with similar methods and do great things with their lives. Buy the book. You wont regret it.
Maybe delivery from U.S. is not so fast to Latvia. Still waiting to book.
